10. Adjust the height of the ATE by pushing the button on the anterior
panel and sliding the strut to the appropriate length. The superior
edge of the pectoral pads should be located approximately one inch
below the sternal notch
(Fig. 11)
.
11. Using the provided tool, loosen the screw by one and a half turn and
then adjust the angle on the hinged adjustment mechanism to
accommodate sternal contours
(Fig. 12)
.
Note:
Make sure the hinged adjustment mechanism is tightened
enough to lock it into position.
12. Fasten the non-labeled belt end onto the ATE panel.
13. Fasten the retaining straps onto the ATE panel soft good, over the
non-labeled belt end
(Fig. 13)
. Close the belt.
14. If necessary, adjust the compression system cord length
(Fig. 14)
.
15. Connect both quick-release buckles, tighten the shoulder straps, and
position the shoulder pad for optimal comfort
(Fig. 15)
.
16. If desired, remove alligator, trim the strap, and replace alligator.
17. Slide fingers through the holes in the two compression system
handles and pull until the belt is at the appropriate tightness.
(Fig. 18)
.
18. The brace may require fine tuning for comfort, fit and stabilization
when sitting, standing, or ambulating. This may include adjusting or
tightening straps, compression system, rigid panels, and/or ATE/PTE.
AXILLARY STRAP ONLY OPTION / ADJUSTMENTS
• Replace step 14 with the following: fasten the strap anchor onto
a smooth rearward area of the belt, then tighten strap
(Fig. 16)
• Resume steps 15 and 16.
ATE+PTE DUAL STRAP OPTION / ADJUSTMENTS
• Before step 15, attach axillary strap to secondary buckles
(Fig. 16)
• Fasten the strap anchor onto the belt and then tighten strap
(Fig. 17)
• Resume steps 15 and 16.
HINGE/LENGTH ADJUSTMENTS
If brace needs to be taller
(Fig. 19)
:
1. Remove hinge screw carefully with provided tool; do not lose the pre-
load spring.
2. Attach extension piece to lower stay.
3. Attach yoke to extension piece.
4. Using the provided tool, adjust the angle on the hinged adjustment
mechanism to accommodate sternal contours.
Note:
Make sure the hinged adjustment mechanism is tightened
sufficiently to lock it into position.
BRACE REMOVAL
1. Detach strap buckle(s) on right shoulder.
2. Detach compression system handles and loosen. Fix them onto the
belt after loosening.
3. Detach the overlap closure and remove brace.
