4.13 TOW BAR (IF EQUIPPED)
RUNAWAY VEHICLE/MACHINE HAZARD. MACHINE HAS NO TOWING BRAKES. TOWING
VEHICLE MUST BE ABLE TO CONTROL MACHINE AT ALL TIMES. ON-HIGHWAY TOWING
NOT PERMITTED. FAILURE TO FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS COULD CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY
OR DEATH.
MAXIMUM TOWING SPEED 5 MPH (8 KM/H)
MAXIMUM TOWING GRADE 25%.
Prior to towing the machine, complete the following:
DO NOT TOW MACHINE WITH ENGINE OPERATING OR DRIVE HUBS ENGAGED.
1.
Retract, lower and position boom in travel position; lock
turntable.
2.
Lower towbar and connect to towing vehicle
.
3.
Disconnect drive hubs by inverting disconnect cap. Refer to
Figure 4-6., Drive Disconnect Hub.
4.
Position steer/tow selector valve for towing; pull valve knob
OUT for towing. The machine is now in the towing mode.
