Connect one end of the null modem cable that we supplied with your 8600 
to the Serial 1 connector on the 8600’s rear panel.

Connect the other end to your computer’s COM port. 

You are now ready to connect your computer to your 8600 through a null modem 
cable connected to your computer’s serial port. Refer to 

Installing 8600 PC Remote 

Control Software

 (page 2-66).

: Orban Customer Service supports only the 3Com / U.S. Robot-

ics®  56kbps fax modem EXT on the 8600 side (although other 56kbps 
modems will often work OK).
