Compute Blades

Each individual compute blade is a single-slot card and performs independently as a full-function
server running its own operating system with IP connectivity via the base and fabric Network Interface
Cards (NICs). The compute blade provides two USB ports and one serial console interface on the front
panel.

Compute blades in the T5100 platform are classified as follows:

• Application server blades (host telecommunications software)

• PM&C server blade

Host the PM&C application for platform configuration and management; Ethernet connection to
shelf manager and Ethernet switch)

• the primary PM&C server blade
