Print Table/Bed & Print Area
Items to be printed are loaded and unloaded on the Print Table/Bed. Items are printed in
8” (203 mm) by 2.24” (57 mm) passes. Maximum print area of an image is 8” (203 mm) by
12” (305 mm).
Note: It is important not to place information in the file within the following margins:
1/2 inch (13 mm) on the right side and 3/4 inch (19 mm) from the top. If there is any
information placed within these margins, the Ready light will blink 7 times indicating
a “Margin Error”. Press Reset to cancel the Error message, remove the information from
this area and resend the file.
3 LOADING FILM
This chapter describes how to load and unload the film.
Caution: To prevent printhead damage, do not operate Foil Xpress Direct without film
loaded.
1. First - Foil Xpress Direct must be put into “Foil Changing Mode”. Press “Mode” Button
once to select this Mode. Press “Print” to initiate. Foil Handling System will move along
the arm to the left.

Loading Film
This chapter describes how to load and
unload the film.
Caution: To prevent printhead damage, do
not operate Foil Direct without film loaded.
1) First - Foil Direct must be put into “Foil
Changing Mode”. Press “Mode” Button once
to select this Mode. Press “Print” to initiate.

3) Slide an empty take-up core on the Take-
Up Spool to collect the used film. Make
certain that the metal ring on the end of the
tub is against the flange on the Take-Up
Spool.

2) Once the Foil Handling System has
stopped moving to the left, slide a roll of film
onto the Feed Spool such that the film un-
winds from the top of the roll in a clockwise
direction. Verify that the underside of the
film (the side wound to the inside of the roll)
faces down as it passes beneath the
printhead. (Figure 3-1)
2. Once the Foil Handling System has stopped moving to the left, slide a roll of film onto

3. Slide an empty take-up core on the Take-Up Spool to collect the used film. Make certain

4. Pull foil from Feed Spool down and under the printhead, and then up and around the
takeup shool as shown in Figure 3-2.
