Email Settings

window
, in which you enable and configure the
use of e-mail alerts.
Change Password Window
The
Change Password
window lets you change the administrator password for your NetDVMS solution.
Access:
To access the
Change Password
window, click the
Change Password...
button in the
General Settings
window
.

How to Change the Administrator Password
To change the administrator password, do the following:
1. Specify the current administrator password in the
Old password
field
2. Specify the new administrator password in the
New password
field
3. Repeat the new administrator password in the
New password (confirm)
field
4. Click
OK
.
E-Mail Setup Window
The
E-Mail setup
window lets you enable and configure the use of e-mail alerts. Such e-mail alerts can automatically
be sent to one or more recipients when motion is detected or specific events (see
About Input, Events & Output ...
) occur.
By default, SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) is used when sending e-mail alerts. Compared with other mail
transfer methods, SMTP has the advantage that you will avoid automatically triggered warnings from your e-mail
client when an e-mail alert is to be sent. Such automatically triggered warnings may otherwise inform you that your e-
mail client is trying to automatically send e-mail messages on your behalf.
Access:

You enable the use of e-mail alerts separately for the OnSSI Recording Server and—if applicable
—
the
Viewer application
