Advanced Wireless Settings
To view the Advanced Wireless Settings screen:
Select
Advanced > Wireless Settings
to display the following screen:
The following settings are available in this screen:
Enable Wireless Router Radio
. You can completely turn off the wireless portion of the
wireless modem router by clearing this check box. Select this check box again to enable the
wireless portion of the modem router. When the wireless radio is disabled, other members of
your household can use the modem router by connecting their computers to the modem
router with an Ethernet cable.
The Fragmentation Length, CTS/RTS Threshold, and Preamble Mode options are reserved
for wireless testing and advanced configuration only. Do not change these settings.
Turn off wireless signal by schedule
. You can use this feature to turn off the wireless signal
from your modem router at times when you do not need a wireless connection. For instance,
you could turn it off for the weekend if you leave town.

Name (SSID)
. The service set ID, also known as the wireless network name.
Region
. The country where the unit is set up for use.
Channel
. The current channel, which determines the operating frequency.
Wireless AP
. Indicates if the access point feature is enabled. If it is disabled, the Wireless
LED on the front panel is off.
Broadcast Name
. Indicates if the wireless modem router is configured to broadcast its
SSID.
Security
. Indicates if security is configured on the wireless modem router, and if so, what
type of security is configured.
