RS-485 Communications Wiring
RS-485 communications can be used to connect Temperature Controllers in
remote locations to the DeviceNet Communications Unit.
RS-485 communications cables can be extended up to 500 m.
Connect terminating resistance of 100 to 125
Ω
(1/2W) between terminals 23
and 24 of the devices connected to each end of the RS-485 communications
line.
Connect the RS-485 communications cables to terminals 23 and 24, as
shown in the following diagram.

Use shielded twisted-pair cable (AWG 28 or larger) for the RS-485 communi-
cations cables, as shown in the following diagram.
