Precautions
PID data must be within prescribed ranges.
Note Refer to page 101 for general precautions on operand data areas.
Flags
ER (A50003):
PID data is outside of the allowable range.
The actual sampling period is two or more times the sam-
pling period that has been set.
The content of a
*
DM word is not BCD when set for BCD.
CY (A50004):
The PID action is executed.
> (A50005):
The MV after the PID action exceeds the upper limit.
< (A50007):
The MV after the PID action is less than the lower limit.
Scaling cannot be performed directly with PID(270). To perform scaling, use
PID(270) in combination with APR(142) as shown below.
Measurement value data and manipulated variable output data used with
PID(270) are between 0000 to FFFF hexadecimal. Therefore, normal operation
cannot be achieved if PID(270) is executed for devices that have different data
ranges without first converting the data. It is necessary to perform scaling or to
take countermeasures before and/or after executing PID(270).

Outline of Operation
1, 2, 3...
1.
Using APR(142), scale the input value (CIO 2011) so that the value falls
within the range applicable to PID(270).
2.
Execute PID(270) using the scaled measurement value as the input
(D03000).
3.
Perform scaling again so that the manipulated variable output data
(D04000) can be written as the output data (CIO 1912). Refer to the follow-
ing page for details on the control data for APR(142) and PID(270).
