Bolus Delivery Settings
Extended bolus configuration
An extended bolus is delivered over a prolonged period of time. Only the meal
portion of a bolus can be extended. A correction bolus cannot be extended.
To turn off the extended bolus feature or to change your extended bolus
configuration:

Home > Settings > System setup > Bolus/basal/calcs > Extended
2. Select a configuration for your extended bolus:

Specify the amount of the immediate portion of the bolus as a
percent of the total bolus. The remainder will be extended.
Units
Specify how many units of insulin should be delivered
immediately. The remainder will be extended.
Off
Turn off the ability to extend a bolus.
3. Press Select.
Maximum Bolus
The Maximum Bolus defines the upper limit for a manually-calculated bolus. The
Bolus Calculator warns you if it calculates a bolus that is over this amount. The
largest allowed value of the Maximum Bolus is 30 units.
Caution:
The Maximum Bolus default is 10 units. Check with your healthcare
provider before adjusting this setting.

2. Use the
Up/Down
button to specify the Maximum Bolus, then press
Enter.
Bolus increment
The bolus increment setting defines how much one press of the Up/Down button
changes the bolus amount shown on the screen. This determines how finely you
can tune the specified bolus amount. The setting options are 0.05, 0.1, 0.5, or 1.0 U.
For example, setting this to 1.0 U means that you will be able to request a bolus of
2 U or of 3 U, but not of 2.5 U.
