7.9 TAKE-UP OF SLIDE PLAY
The slide is equipped with self-lubricating sliding shoes which allow take up of play in two directions:
lengthways (face A) and crossways (face B).
Side A adjustment :
To carry out this operation, observe the following procedure:

Bring the slide to B.D.C.
?
Loosen the nuts “3” and the screws “1” and “5”.
?
Insert a thickness gauge in point “A” (lower and upper ends of the slide guide shoes)and tighten all screws
“4” so that the total lengthwise play is 0.15 mm both on the left and right side of the press.
?
Progressively tighten screws “5”.
?
Progressively tighten the nuts “3” and the screws “1”.
?
Check the total play once again.
Side A adjustment :
To carry out this operation, observe the following procedure:
?
Bring the slide to B.D.C.
?
First loosen the screw “1” and insert, at its place, a 300 mm long M24 threaded bar.
?
Remove the remaining screws “1”.
?
Move to the outside the sliding unit supported by the threaded bar.
?
Remove one or more sheets “2” considering that each sheet has a thickness of 1/10 mm.
?
Re-fit everything and check with a thickness gauge that at points “B” (lower and upper end of the slide
guide shoes) the total play in the crosswise direction is 0.15 mm both at the front and back side of the
press.
