POLLING

HOW A POLLED DOCUMENT IS TRANSMITTED

The remote party (i.e. the party to whom the polling request is made), must insert the document in his/her
fax machine ready for automatic transmission at the preset time (e.g. 17:30).
This section explains the polling operation from the point of view of the remote party.

The display shows the initial operating mode.

1.

Insert the document face down, without forcing it, in the slot of
the ADF. Adjust the guides to the width of the paper.
The display shows an arrow pointing to STD indicating that
standard resolution is selected.

The other fax machine makes the call at 17:30. At the end of the
transmission the message “TX COMPLETED” will appear on the
display for a few seconds followed by the initial operating mode.

you want to interrupt transmission at any point:

1) Press STOP. The display alternately indicates the machine

operation mode message and a message prompting you
to press STOP to remove the document (REMOVE
DOCUMENT, PRESS STOP).

2) Press STOP again. The document will be ejected and the

display will alternate between the machine operating mode
message and a message indicating that transmission has
been interrupted. If the document to be removed
comprises more than one sheet, manually remove all the
sheets above the one in the ADF and then press STOP to
also eject the first sheet.

3) Press STOP again to return to the original operating mode.
