Item 20 Find
Use this option to search the RS485 link if addressable detectors are fitted. You are first prompted
to enter the lowest detector address then the highest detector address. The Tocsin 700 then
searches for addresses between the lowest and highest address numbers installing each detector
it finds. Addresses can be in the range 0 to 65535. It takes approximately 5 seconds to search for
each address hence making it desirable to narrow the search range to save time.
Note that for the addressable detectors once the addresses have been found n the loop by the
Tocsin 700 you will then have to go through the channel set up on each address at the control
panel to set Range,Units and Gas Type. At this time you can also add logical name tags to match
the detectors.
Item 21 Upload Events
Select to upload events stored in memory via the RS232 port on the control panel (J1).
Note that the port must be selected as an RS232 output (see Item 21)
Typically a user could use a program such as Microsoft Hyperterminal to capture the transmitted
data. See later chapter on data capture for further information.
Item 22 Remote Port
Use this menu item to switch the control of the multifunction I/O port to either operate in RS232
mode using connector J1 (9 pin D) or RS485 on J19 (Screw terminal).
Item 23 Return
Select to return to the Base Menu.
