6. Engineers Menu
The engineers menu allows the user to access engineering functions.
Item 1 Range
Allows the engineer to change the range of the channel. This item has ten pre-set ranges, 1, 5,
10,25, 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000, 2000 and 3000. These should cover 90% of the ranges required
and are selected by using the rotation of the switch. For the ranges these do not cover there is a
custom range editor. This is accessed by selecting CUSTOM from the ranges menu. On selecting
CUSTOM the editor will display the channels current range. This is edited by rotating the switch.
Once settle at the value required a button press stores this value to memory.
Item 2 Measurement.
Allows the engineer to set the units of measurement for the channel. These select the four types
from memory %LEL, PPM, %VOL being the three defaults. The fourth gas type is configurable
using the editor. Displaying the current reading and rotating the switch allows the value to be
changed. These units displayed are the units from EEPROM memory. So if they are edited using
the EEPROM memory editor which is a computer based program they will be displayed in this menu
item.
Item 4 Address.
Allows the engineer to select which physical channel the sensor is connected to. The channels in
the system are arranged logically i.e. in a four channel system these are labelled 1, 2, 3 and 4.
However these could be physically on channel 1, 3, 5, and 7. Install analogue sensors first and then
detect any sensors connected to the RS485 addressable channel. These then follow on sequentially
from the analogue channels. You cannot exceed 16 sensors.
Item 6 Gas Type.
Allows the engineer to change the displayed gas type for the channel. As shown in the explanation
of the display mode, these values are stored in EEPROM and are editable using the EEPROM
memory editor.
Item 3 Custom Measure
This menu item allows the user to set a custom measurement type. Once set up the custom measurement
type can be selected in the Measurement Menu.
Item 5. Sensor Type
Allows selection of the three basic types of detector, T102A for toxic gases and Oxygen, T102P for pellistor
detectors and T102IR for Infra Red detectors. This menu item must be correctly set if the detector is an
addressable unit on the RS485 input. This option makes no difference for standard analogue 4-20mA input
detectors.
Item 7 Custom Gas Type
This menu item allows the user to set a custom gas type. Once set up the custom gas type can be selected
in theGas Typet Menu.
