Safety information

93

Removal of the Nickel Cadmium battery

A nickel-cadmium battery is used in this machine. This battery contains
substances which could be hazardous to the environment. When this machine
is discarded, the battery should be removed and properly disposed of as
chemical waste in conformance with local regulations and legislation.

If you have a maintenance contract with Océ for this machine, Océ will take
care of removal and proper disposal of the battery. Upon request, Océ will also
take care of removal and disposal of the battery from machines not covered
under a maintenance contract. If you choose to remove the battery without the
assistance of Océ, the battery must be removed as follows, preferably by a
qualified technician, in order to avoid any risk related to improper removal.

Océ does not accept any liability for any damage or consequences,

if the batteries are removed by persons other than Océ service personnel.
