best suits what you are cooking and keep an eye on the results during the
cooking process. See also the grilling table below.
3. Once the appliance has finished heating up, the green indicator light will
come on and the grill is ready to use.
NB!
You may get a smell of smoke
when the appliance heats up for the first time. This is perfectly normal.
NB!
The green indicator light will go on and off during use. This indicates that
the heating element is maintaining the optimum grill temperature.
Warning!
The steam from the grill is very hot, particularly when you open the
lid!
Place the ingredients on the grill plates and close the lid. Do not place too
many ingredients on the grill plates at a time, as this will affect the grilling
results and prolong the cooking time. Check the results after a few minutes.
Use an oven glove or pot holder when opening the lid. If you are not satisfied
with the results, close the lid again and continue grilling.
Once you have finished grilling, lift the ingredients off the grill using a plastic
utensil (heat resistant). Do not use metal utensils, as this will damage the non-
stick coating on the grill plates. Unplug the appliance. Do not leave it plugged
in when it is empty.
Do not cut into the ingredients when they are on the grill, as this may damage
the coating.
For cooking times, see “Grilling table” below.
Tips before grilling
For optimum results:
• Always preheat the grill.
• Only grill boneless fish, meat and pork for more even grilling results.
• Marinate ingredients and leave them in the fridge for at least 1 hour before
grilling.
• Brush vegetables with oil for even grilling.
• Check the drip tray regularly to ensure that it does not overflow.
Cleaning and maintenance
• Always unplug the grill before cleaning and allow it to cool.
• Never submerge the grill or cord in water or other liquid.
• Scrape food residues off the plates using the cleaning scraper provided.
Never use metal utensils.
• Clean the plates with a damp sponge and a little washing-up liquid. Make
sure to remove all residues of washing-up liquid and dry with a dry cloth.
• Empty the drip tray and wash it before replacing it.
