This fault needs to be disabled if a pack needs to tolerate stacks that can experience
communication faults. Even when this fault is disabled, a COM status for a stack will
be reported on the Stack Status page as described in the Operator Interface Manual:
Multi-Stack. A stack that does not communicate with a Battery Control Panel is not
considered a ready stack (as per the definition of
).
8.6.4. Stack Watchdog
Nuvation Energy Battery Control Panel will periodically update the watchdogs timers
(
sc_controller_wdt
) of all stacks that are connected to the Battery Control Panel. If an Stack Controller
becomes disconnected from the Battery Control Panel, this local Stack Controller watchdog can be
configured to trip a fault at the stack level.

8.6.5. External Controller Heartbeat
Nuvation Energy Battery Control Panel can be configured to require a heartbeat signal from an
external controller in order to keep all stacks online and out of fault state. A write to the MESA
controller heartbeat register is expected at least once during the watchdog period. The Battery
Control Panel will write to all enabled stacks watchdog registers (sc_controller_wdt) to keep them
stack out of fault state.
