Further technical details
Both shoulder straps are equipped with soft
Velcro to attach a vario or other flight
instruments. An optional radio pocket can be
attached in two different positions.
On both sides of the harness there are zip
pockets, which are equipped with internal
attachment loops. This means cameras,
wallets, etc. can be securely stored.
The ITUS rucksack is also designed with many
useful details. A soft Velcro surface on the left
shoulder strap can be used to attach a smart-
phone. Immediately above it there is a zip pocket
with a cable outlet for charging cables. So the
always reachable Smartphone on the shoulder
strap can be charged from a power bank in the
zip pocket.
The ITUS is also fitted with a drinking bladder
outlet. This means the pilot can easily stay
hydrated. Sufficient liquid is an important basis
for the ability to concentrate on longer flights!
The storage compartment of the ITUS has two
protective pockets for the tips of trekking poles.
Simply insert the tips of the poles into these
pockets and secure the poles by pulling the
integrated bungees over the trekking pole
baskets. This means the tips are safely stored
and cannot fall out. The pilot and harness are
then safe from the sharp tips of the trekking
poles.
Operation
Technical features
Colour-coded leg loop buckles
and main hang points
Colour-coded leg loop buckles
make pre-flight preparation and
safety checks easier. This means
the ITUS is especially suitable
for instruction. The colour-coded
markings on the ITUS can also
be found on the risers of nearly
all current NOVA paragliders.
SAS-TEC back protector
The airbag is complemented with a foam protector made by SAS-TEC which is
fitted in the upper back area. These protectors made from viscoelastic soft foam
were first used in motorcycling and skiing. In terms of their protective effect, they
are very light and ensure a large-area pressure distribution and effective energy
absorption on impact. During a fall and impact on the back, the protector distributes
the pressure of hard objects, such as stones or drinking bottles, over a larger area
and effectively helps to avoid severe injury in the sensitive spinal area.
