Installing the deployment bag
The deployment bag is inserted hori-
zontally into the rescue container. The
white arrow is located on the top of the
deployment bag and points towards
the rescue compartment. After insert-
ing the deploy ment bag, the two white
arrows of the deployment bag and
rescue container must overlap. The
deployment handle is then directed
outwards and the deployment handle
strap must not be twisted.
3
Closing the rescue container
If using the PENTAGON deployment bag
instead of the original ITUS deployment
bag, it is important to ensure that the
closed side (which cannot be opened)
faces upwards when the deployment
bag is inserted into the rescue con-
tainer. Then the triangular pull tab of
the PENTAGON deployment bag must
be directed outwards. The deployment
handle, which is available separately
from NOVA, is looped into the pull tab.
3.1:
When the parachute is located
correctly, an approximately 25 cm
piece of paraglider line or a small rod is
threaded through each of the white clos-
ing loops on the rescue container. Then
the two red zip sliders are moved back
towards the rescue container until they
reach the sewn-in ends of the upper
zips. Guide the deployment handle strap
through the gap between the two red zip
sliders, without twisting the strap and
the rescue handle must now hang down
on the outside. The red zip sliders can
now be moved approximately 10 cm to
the right and left.
Fitting the parachute

Connecting the parachute to the harness
The first step is to connect the parachute to the harness. This means
that the red harness connecting line and the parachute bridle must
be connected. We recommend using oval carabiners with a minimum
breaking load of 2500 daN. The Maillon Rapide Normal has been proven
to have a sufficiently high breaking load (depending on the diameter). The
harness connecting line and parachute bridle should be secured into place with
rubber O-rings or insulation tape. Close and correctly tighten the maillon gate with
a spanner. To do this, follow the instructions of the maillon manufacturer.
Please note:
do not over-tighten the gate. This could lead to damage to the thread
and may reduce the maillon’s breaking load.
As an alternative to the procedure described above, a parachute with a bridle with
a sufficiently large loop (e.g. NOVA PENTAGON) can also be connected to the
harness using a clove hitch or lark’s foot. This is done by passing the parachute
bridle through the eye of the connecting line on the harness. Then the parachute
is threaded through the loop of the bridle and the resulting hitch is tightened and
secured against slipping with insulating tape.
Please note:
with this connection method, care must be taken to ensure the loops
are symmetrical! Under tension, all individual strands running to the knot must be
equally loaded!
