Web-based Management Interface
57
To support the Web-based Management Interface, a computer must have
one of the following Web browsers installed:
•
Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 (or later)
•
Netscape Navigator 4.51 (or later)
Accessing the Web-based Management Interface
To access the Web-based Management Interface, first ensure that the
computer and the switch CPU are on the same virtual local area network
(VLAN). Use the CLI and verify the VLAN assignments to confirm that the
VLANs are the same. If the switch and computer are not on the same
VLAN, you cannot access the Web-based Management Interface.
After VLAN verification occurs, you can access the Web-based Management
Interface by performing the following procedure.
Step
Action
1
Open a Web browser window.
2
Type the IP address of the switch or stack in the Address field of
the Web browser in the form http://<switch IP address>, and press
Enter. For example, if the switch or stack IP address is 10.30.31.105,
then enter http://10.30.31.105 in the Address field. You can obtain
the IP address of the switch or stack from the switch administrator.
3
If applicable, enter the user name and password to gain access to
the switch or stack. The user name is static and depends on the
type of access required or assigned. For read-only access, the user
name is RO and for read/write access it is RW. These user names
are case-sensitive. You can obtain the password from the switch
administrator.
4
If all information is correct, the main switch page appears. The
following figure displays an example of the main switch page for a
