Ensure that the piping system is not pressurised.

Protect yourself from the medium and drain 

the piping.

Ensure that the pipes are not held by the 

coupling.

Loosen bolts alternately, but do not take 

them off completely.

During repeat installation, the threaded part 

that protrudes rearward out of the threaded 

bolt must be lubricated with a suitable lubricant 

(such as Molycote 1000). After the screws have 

been unscrewed, the entire accessible thread of 

both screws must be lubricated with a suitable 

lubricant (such as Molycote 1000).

Caution:

Do not damage sealing lips when widening.

Loosen teeth engagement by widening the housing 

between the lock bars and lifting the anchoring ring.

Do not rotate coupling on the pipe while the teeth 

are engaged.

Slide coupling aside on one pipe end.

Sealing lip may cling to pipe’s end. 

Do not force coupling aside. 

Rotate coupling back and forth.

Note:

 If used in enamel coating areas, the couplings 

must not come into contact with substances which 

prevent the surface from being wetted (e.g. greases 

containing silicone).

Mark half width of coupling on both pipe ends.

If present, remove any transport security straps. If required, clean sealing area of dirt particles. 

Do not disassemble coupling or drop coupling.

Slide coupling over pipe ends and align to pipe marks. Tighten bolts slightly and alternately with ratchet spanner or screwdriver. 

Do not rotate coupling any further once its teeth have engaged with the pipe. Tighten bolts alternately to a defined torque with 

a torque wrench (see details on coupling label).

Never tighten bolts to more than the specified torque. If leaks occur after fitting, remove coupling and rerun steps 1 to 15. 

(Make sure the sealing area and the pipe surfaces are clean.)
