Troubleshooting

Frequent or steady pulse
quality indication.
There is excessive ambient light.
Shield the sensor from the light source.
The Model 7500FO is applied to a
polished or artificial fingernail.
Apply the sensor to a finger without
artificial or polished nails.
Position the sensor at a different site.
The red LED is not lit in the
sensor’s finger insertion area.
Ensure the sensor is securely attached to
the Model 7500FO.
Check the sensor for any visible signs of
deterioration.
Contact Nonin Technical Service.
Excessive patient motion.
Reduce patient motion.
A dash (-) appears in the
%SpO
2
display.
An inadequate signal from the
finger is being detected.
Reposition finger or insert a different
finger, keeping sensor motionless for at
least 10 seconds.
Position sensor at different site.
The finger was removed from the
sensor.
Reinsert the finger and keep the sensor
motionless for at least 10 seconds.
The Model 7500FO is not
functioning.
Turn the unit off, check all connections,
and retry.
Contact Nonin Technical Service.
An error code appears in
the display area.
The Model 7500FO encountered
an error.
Turn the unit off and then back on again
to remove the error code.
If the error persists, disconnect all power,
and then reconnect the power and turn
the unit back on.
If the error still persists, note the error
code and contact Nonin Technical
Service.
The unit is in Alarm mode,
but no audible alarms can
be heard.
The 2-minute Alarm Silence
button is activated.
Press the Alarm Silence button to re-
engage alarm volume, or wait for two
minutes. After two minutes, alarm tones
will automatically re-engage.
Audible volume set to “
0FF
” in
alarm limits.
Adjust volume through setup mode
The Model 7500FO does not
record data.
The battery is low.
Recharge the battery.
The battery is missing.
