address with a subnet prefix shared by all neighboring PIM routers.

(Optional) For each interface that is running PIM, enter a new designated
router priority in the

edit box. The router with
the highest priority and the highest IP address is elected as the designated
router. The default is 1, and the range is 0-4294967295 (2^32 - 1).
Note
Although you can configure this option, PIM-DM does not use DR
Election Priority. On a LAN with more than one router, data-forwarding is
implemented on the basis of PIM Assert messages. The router with the
lowest cost (based on unicast routing) to reach the source of data traffic is
elected as the router that forwards traffic. In the case of a tie, the router
with the highest IP address is elected to forward traffic.

Disabling PIM
You can disable PIM on one or more interfaces you have configured on each
unit.
1. Click C
ONFIG
on the home page.
2.
Click on the PIM link in the Routing Configuration section.

In the Interfaces section, click the

FF
radio button(s) for each interface
on which you want to disable PIM. To disable PIM entirely, click the
O
FF
radio button next to each interface that is currently running PIM.

PPLY
, and then click
S
AVE
to make your change permanent.
