Connecting the IP100 Series
Step 2—Connecting a Console
Use the null-modem console cable (with DB-9 connectors) that comes
with the NAP to connect one of the following console devices to the
CONSOLE port on the rear of the NAP:
•
a standard VT100-compatible terminal
•
a DOS or Windows computer running a terminal emulation program
such as HyperTerminal
•
a UNIX work station running a terminal emulation program such as
Kermit
NOTE:
The
CONSOLE
port on the NAP supports a data terminal
equipment (DTE) interface with 8 data bits, no parity, and 1 stop bit,
running at 9600 bps.
Figure 2-4 shows a notebook computer connected to an IP100 Series NAP
using the console cable.
