4. Preparation
4.9- Speed of the drums
By using different combinations of sprockets-
wheels (A) and (B), different speeds of the
drums are obtained. It is recommended to
start harvesting using the sprockets A=16
teeth and B=25 teeth. In this setting, the
drums rotate at the speed that best fits most
harvesting conditions.
The ideal speed of the drums depends
on several factors, such as: type, size and
density of the crop to be harvested, harvest
conditions, etc. If necessary, perform practical
tests with different speeds, until finding the
one that best suits the crop that is being
harvested.
To change the drums speed:
1.
First, check to which chopping size the
machine is set (see which pair of cutting
gear (E) is being used on the machine);
2.
Find on the following pages the chart
corresponding to the pair of cutting gears
mounted on the machine, for example:
18 and 13;
