3.6 EXAMPLES OF PROPER INSTALLATION
Always refer to the UNI 10683 standard when
having the product installed by a qualified
professional. The installation technician has
the obligation to issue the CERTIFICATE OF
CONFORMITY OF INSTALLATION for the whole
Italian territory. In example (A) a horizontal section
is needed to connect to an existing flue pipe.
Respect the slope of 3-5% upwards, in order to
reduce ash deposit in the section of the horizontal
pipe, which must not exceed 3m (1). The existing
flue pipe must be accessible for inspection (2).
The installation of the product in example (B)
requires an insulated duct (3), as the entire flue
pipe has been installed outside the house.
Example (C) uses a single-wall flue pipe (4) for the
indoor section. With regard to the part located in
the attic, outside the room where the generator
is installed, it is necessary to install an insulated
section, with double crossing of the slab and the
roof; the passing holes of the pipe must respect
the minimum safety distances indicated on the
labels of the sections of the pipe itself, paying
attention to the possible contact with the material
crossed, as is the case with:
- concrete, bricks, etc.;
- wood, composite materials, etc.
In both cases, make sure the passage for the flue
pipe through the slab and the roof is wide enough
to allow suitable safety distance (5).
It is recommended to check and respect the
data on the flue plate, paying particular attention
to safety distances from combustible materials.
The previous rules also apply to connection holes
made on the wall.
In the lower part of the flue pipe, as well as at the
chimney flue inlet, a "T" type connector (6) with
inspection plug (7) has been fitted for the all the 3
types of installation.
In the upper part of the chimney flue, a windproof
chimney cap (8) has been fitted for all the 3 types
of installation.
For all the 3 types of installations, a grate (9) has
been provided to ensure good oxygenation of
the room where the product has been placed. In
case of hermetically sealed appliance, equipped
with direct outdoor connection of the air-intake
system, a grate is not required.
It is not recommended to install a 90-degree
elbow as first section, for the ash would quickly
clog the duct, causing air draft problems.
In the event of particular atmospheric conditions
and/or unfavorable draft, the product is able to
compensate for such situations, provided that
necessary precautions have been taken during
the installation, such as, for example, a windproof
chimney.
