The PC Connection
2. Once in the Control Panel, double click on the Network Connections icon. Again, older
versions of Windows call this by a slightly different name. It will be named similar to
“Network and Dial-up Connections”.

(Because PCs can connect to more than one network,
you may see more than one Local Area Connection icon.)
3. Open the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window by double-clicking the
Network icon that is going to be used to connect to the IR2 (because PCs can connect
to more than one network. You may see more than one Local Area Connection icon than
in the image above). This opens the Connection Status window (bottom left image in
Figure 4.7).
4. Next click the
Properties
button to open the
Connection Properties
window (middle
image in Figure 4.7).
5. Next click the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item in the list and then the Properties button
– as shown. This final step opens the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window
(bottom right in Figure 4.7).
