Distribution Lists
If you tend to send Text Messages and Two-Way Messages, (see “Text and
Numeric Messaging” on page 57 and “Two-Way Messaging” on page 110) to
multiple contacts, grouping those contacts into Distribution Lists may be
helpful. You may create 20 Distribution Lists with 20 contacts in each list.
Unlike Categories, contacts may be assigned to more than one Distribution List.
USER TIP: When grouping contacts into Distribution Lists, you may
want to designate the Mobile phone number as the primary
phone number to facilitate sending messages. Messages
cannot be sent to an email address from the Message Cen-
ter on nextel.com.
NOTE: Two-Way Messaging does not support sending a message to a
Distribution List from the phone at this time.
Creating Distribution Lists & Adding Contacts
To create a Distribution List, follow these instructions:
Editing Distribution Lists
Editing Distribution Lists includes adding or removing contacts from the list. To
do so, follow the instructions below.

From the Address Book home page, select the contacts you wish to add
to a particular distribution list by placing a check next to the contact
name. You may select up to 20 contacts for each Distribution List.

Click Add Distribution List in the sub-navigation bar.

Enter the Distribution List Name and Description.
4 Click save to save the Distribution List and its contents.

From the Address Book home page, click Distribution Lists in the nav-
igation bar. All your Distribution Lists are displayed.

Click the Edit icon beside the Distribution List you wish to modify.
Your entire Address Book is displayed.

Select the contacts you wish to add to your Distribution List by placing
a check next to the contact’s name.

Select the contacts you wish to remove from your Distribution List by
un-checking the box next to the contact’s name.

Click save to save the updated Distribution List.
