17 APPENDIX III: USB Operation

The Cornerstone 260B Monochromators implement the USB Test and Measurement Class (USBTMC).
The driver for the USBTMC is included with LabView, so LabView users

don’t need to install anything

else to be able to communicate with the Cornerstone 260B. The MonoTerm software is written in
LabView and the source code is shipped with the instrument. It can be used as example code when
learning how to connect to the Cornerstone 260B.

For other programming languages, there are some example files and details that are stored on the
memory stick shipped with the instrument.
