5. Before entering the alarm limits, choose the
ALARM MODE
. There are two possible
selections:
ABSOLUTE The alarm will trigger when the current value of the control
loop drops below the low alarm limit or rises above the high
alarm limit.
DEVIATION Setpoint Deviation: an alarm that responds to deviations from
setpoint. If the current value of the control loop drops below
the increment from the setpoint value specified in the lower
limit or rises above the increment specified in the high limit,
an alarm will be triggered.
The default
ALARM MODE
is
ABSOLUTE
. To change the
ALARM MODE
, click on
either selection.
6. There are also two options for alarms that can be used with the control loop. They
are:
ENABLED
This option allows a visual alarm to flash on screen when an
alarm is triggered. The visual alarm consist of a flashing
outline around the display gauge representing the control loop
for which the alarm is set.
AUDIBLE
When this option is selected, the result is both a visual and an
audible alarm. The alarm will flash on the screen and make a
beeping noise when it is triggered.
To choose either of these options, click on the appropriate checkbox.
11.2 Alarm ShutDown
There is also an alarm shutdown feature . This allows the user to shut down a specified
control loop or a group of loops when the high alarm is triggered.
1. To enable the shutdown feature, click on the ShutDn>> button. The
ALARM
SHUTDOWN SELECTIONS SCREEN
will appear ( see sample screen below ):
