5. Placing and Receiving
Calls
Overview
Placing calls using the 2-Port Gateway is almost as
easy as placing a regular phone call – with added
benefits. Not only can you place calls to and receive
calls from any telephone in the world, you can also
communicate with other 2-Port Gateway devices and
other Net2Phone devices. This section offers
instructions on placing and receiving different types
of calls with the 2-Port Gateway.

Calling Regular Telephones
Calls within North America
To place a call within North America using
your 2-Port Gateway:
1. Pick up the handset of a telephone
connected to one of the 2-Port Gateway’s
ports and listen for a dial tone.
