WARNING: Improperly positioned
media can damage the dryer belts.
Lamp Activation Control Conditions:
There are many conditions that will prevent the dryer lamps from turning on.
The dryer lamps will only be activated (turned on) if all of the following are in-place:
- Master Power to XPS-ProMail Base is ON (green button illuminated).
- 24V plug is properly attached from Dryer Base, to back of XPS-ProMail Base.
- Dryer Lamp Power switch [6] is ON (fan on top of dryer unit is running).
- Dryer Base Power Switch, on the XPS-ProMail Base, is ON.
- Dryer Vacuum Switch, on the XPS-ProMail Base, is ON.
- Dryer (lamps/housing) is level.
- Dryer Lamp Intensity dial is NOT set to zero.
- Media has interrupted the Dryer Sensor. Dryer count down timer activated.
Positioning Media on Dryer Belts
Since media is normally fed down the center of the XPS-ProMail Base transport area, the media
will also be centered as it passes over the dryer base. However; with some media widths,
centering the media on the dryer base may place the
edges of the media very close to the side of a belt
(where the media can easily slide under a belt).
In this case the media should be repositioned from
center so the edges don’t get caught under a belt.
For this reason, in some cases, it may be necessary to
first determine the appropriate position of the media on
the dryer and then work your way to the left; adjusting
the XPS-ProMail Base side guide positions and feeder
position so the media exits onto the dryer appropriately.
WARNING: If media feeds under the dryer belts the
belts can be damaged (torn). Media that jams under
the dryer lamps may ignite. If a media jam or hesitation
should occur under the dryer lamps; immediately press
any of the Emergency Stop buttons to shut down the system. Please see “In Case of a Jam”.
Positioning the Exit Rollers:
The exit rollers, mounted at the exit end of the
dryer base, are adjustable. Loosen the locking
screw [G] and position the rollers to the desired
location. The rollers can be adjusted for different
thickness of media by rotating the clamp on the
mounting bar.
Position the rollers so they do NOT track over the
printed image (wet ink).
