Personalizing Your Terminal
If your terminal is near other terminals that ring the same way, choose unique Selectable Ring Tones
(page 137) so you know which calls are for you.
When you need to cover up noise in your office that might be distracting to your work, turn on Background
Music (page 14).
Don't forget about that important meeting - set an Alarm (page 12) to remind you.
Let the co-workers you call know who's on the line. Go to Name Storing (page 90) and assign a name to
your extension.
To have your terminal beep every time you press a dial pad key, enable the Dial Pad Confirmation Tones
(page 49).
Your Terminal Does the Talking
The optional Voice Response System (page 164) gives your UX5000 digital recording and play back
capability. This lets you handle callers with that important "Personal Touch". For example, if you don't have
an operator, the Automated Attendant (page 13) can answer your calls and play a list of dialing options to
your callers. Use Personal Greeting (page 116) to greet your callers with your own recorded voice, and
then forward them to a co-worker. Or, you can have Park and Page (page 114) welcome your callers and
automatically page you to pick up the call.
You'll find other VRS features handy when using your terminal or staying in touch with others in your com-
pany. If there is an announcement everyone in your company should hear, just listen to your General Mes-
sage (page 64). Voice Prompting Messages (page 161) tell you about your UX5000, your own terminal
and the status of your call. You'll hear voice prompts reminding you when your calls are forwarded or when
you have a message. You can even find out your extension number, the date and the time of day.
