The NEC SuperScript 660 meets the requirements of
the Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star
Computers program for printers.  The purpose of this
program is to promote the manufacturing and mar-
keting of energy-efficient office automation equip-
ment, thereby potentially reducing combustion-
related pollution.

Your SuperScript 660, as shipped from the factory,
will automatically power down to 15 watts from 400
watts after 15 minutes of inactivity.   You may also
change this time period to any interval between 1 to
30 minutes if you desire.

Some additional tips for saving energy are:

1. Use the “Print Preview” function if available

in your application software

2. Use the “Manual Duplex” feature to print on

both sides of the paper

3. Shorten the “Power Saving Mode On” time

period to less than 15 minutes
