Maintaining Your Printer 9–3

REDISTRIBUT-
ING THE
TONER

The toner in one disposable Toner Cartridge lasts for
approximately 4000 pages at 5% black to white ratio.
However, the Starter Toner Cartridge will only last
2,000 pages. The shading of the print output be-
comes lighter when the cartridge needs to be re-
placed or the toner needs to be redistributed.

When the print output is light, perform the following
steps to redistribute the toner.

1.

Turn the power switch off.

2.

Pull the lock release lever and raise the upper

cover gently.
