From the inside of the front panel, release the blank panel tabs and remove the
panel.

NOTE:

The system unit chassis may also re-

quire a slot cover punch-out to be removed.

Reinstall the front panel.

Installing the Storage Device

Install the device into the device slot as follows.

Remove the top cover, front panel, and 3 1/2-inch drive bracket as previously de-
scribed.

Insert the device, connector end first, into the device slot.

Connect the device cables as follows:

If installing an IDE device, such as an IDE hard disk, connect the IDE cable
and power cable.

NOTE:

If installing a hard disk, use the IDE ca-

ble attached to the fast IDE port (IDE1 connec-
tor) for the best performance.
