Appendix B

System Board Switches

Switches are set correctly at the factory for your configuration. Conditions that require
changing the switch settings are as follows:

You are upgrading your processor.

You need to set switches for the new processor speed and processor voltage.

You forgot your password and cannot boot your system.

You need to set a switch to clear your current password.

You changed your CMOS settings in setup and want the default settings.

You need to set a switch to clear your current setting and set the factory defaults.

CAUTION:

Do not change any jumper settings

on the system board. They are for manufacturing
purposes only.

The Figure Appendix B-1 shows the switch locations on the system board. Explanations
follow the figure.
