You also need to perform the following configuration tasks, using standard Linux
procedures:

Configuring the IP address for the bond0 and bond1 interfaces (static or DHCP,
and gateway in
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-bond0
and
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-bond1)
•
Configuring DNS resolution for the system (
/etc/nsswitch.conf
and
/etc/resolv.conf
)
•
Configuring static routes for the system (
/etc/sysconfig/static-routes
)
•
Configuring the system hostname (
/etc/hosts
and
/etc/sysconfig/network
)
•
Configuring the system time zone (
/etc/sysconfig/clock
)
Disabling Hyperthreading
Some system installations may disable hyperthreading to facilitate application
execution.

Disable hyperthreading only if your system satisfies the
minimum BIOS version requirements. Contact the NEC
Corporation of America Customer Support Center or your
authorized NEC service representative to confirm that you
have the correct BIOS version.
To disable hyperthreading, you enter the ftServer Setup utility.
To disable hyperthreading
1. Turn on or restart your system. When the Express5800/
ftServer
logo screen
appears, press F2 to enter your system’s BIOS setup utility.
The BIOS setup utility’s
Main
menu appears after the system completes more of
the POST (power-on self-test) process.
2. On the Main menu, use the right-arrow key to select the
Advanced
tab.
3. Use the down-arrow key to select
Advanced Processor Options
and press Enter.
4. Select
Hyper Threading
Technology
and press Enter.
5. Change the value from Enabled to
Disabled
and press Enter.
6. Press
Esc
, then select
Exit Saving Changes
and press Enter.
The system resumes booting.
