Starting the ftServer Setup Utility
This section describes how to start the ftServer Setup utility.
To start the ftServer Setup utility
1. Turn on or restart your system. When the logo screen appears, or when messages
first begin to appear on your monitor, press F2 to enter ftServer Setup.
2. The system continues the POST (power-on self test) process for a minute or two,
and then displays the ftServer Setup Main menu.
Navigating and Using the ftServer Setup BIOS Setup Menus
You use the
Legend Bar
and the
Menu Bar
to navigate through the BIOS setup menus.
To navigate the Setup screens, use your keyboard and the menu bar at the top of each
menu. Once you have accessed the menu that contains the target feature, use the
keyboard to change the feature’s value. You must choose Save Changes & Exit from
the Exit menu for your changes to take effect.
N O T E
You can determine the BIOS version using ftSMC. Click a
CPU Enclosure node and look at the value of the BIOS:
Version property in the Details pane.
To select an item
1. Use the UP and DOWN arrow keys to move the cursor to the field you want to
select.
2. Use the PLUS and MINUS keys to select a value for that field.
3. Save the currently displayed values by selecting Save Changes & Exit or Save
Changes in the Exit menu.
To display a submenu
1. Use the UP and DOWN arrow keys to move the cursor to the submenu you want to
display. A triangular pointer marks all submenus.
2. Press ENTER.
Legend Bar
Use the keys listed in the legend bar at the bottom of your menu to make selections or
exit the current menu.
