4  Battery Power

Under normal operating conditions battery life expectancy should exceed 1 Year.
However be aware that high fluctuations in temperature may seriously affect
expected battery life.

To ensure battery life exceeds one year in the SensorMATe 3 please use only high
quality Alkaline AA cells.

DO NOT use rechargeable batteries, cheap Zinc-Carbon, Lithium type batteries or
mix battery types as these actions will not give reliable, long life and the batteries may
degrade causing corrosion within the battery compartment area.

Battery condition is monitored once every minute; if a “Battery Low” condition is
detected it will be indicated on the LCD display and also transmitted automatically at
a configurable period (between 8 Hours to 1 Week). The indication of a low battery
event is also transmitted with alarm activation by an installed sensor.

4.1  Battery Replacement/Installation

4.1.1  Remove the rubber shock protector (if fitted) from the SensorMATe 3 casing.

4.1.2  Remove the battery compartment lid from the SensorMATe 3 rear casing.

4.1.3  Remove the existing batteries (if fitted) from the battery compartment.

4.1.4  Install new batteries into the battery compartment. Ensure correct polarity is observed

by making reference to the illustration below or the legends displayed in the battery
compartment.

4.1.5  Refit the battery compartment lid.

4.1.6  Refit the rubber shock protector to the SensorMATe 3 casing.
