8 Fault Finding Guide.
Fault finding on an installed SensorMATe and any attached sensor can easily be
achieved using either a substitution of components methodology or by using the
inbuilt test mode.
The following table gives a brief outline of potential failure modes and corrective
actions.
Fault Finding Guide
Fault Indication
Potential Remedial Action
No Display
Confirm SensorMATe is switched “On”
Replace unit batteries
Replace SensorMATe
Sensor Mat inoperative
Confirm sensor operation using the inbuilt “Test Mode”.
Note: The Carpet alarm (Treadnought mat) requires the
SensorMATe to be used in “Enuresis” mode this allows a
resistive measurement to be made between the mat
connections.
Ensure “Date and Time” functions are programmed
correctly.
Replace Sensor mat /cable with known serviceable unit.
Replace SensorMATe unit.
No Radio Transmission
Ensure correct radio code is assigned to the receiver unit.
Test radio transmission using the inbuilt “Test mode”
Confirm radio operation using an NPU, Infopager or
another receiver to capture the transmitted code.
Replace SensorMATe.
Replace receiver unit.
No ALB transmitted
Ensure Radio code assigned to transmit “Auto low
Battery” is correctly assigned to receiver unit
Ensure receiver is programmed with correct alarm types
Temp. reading incorrect
Avoid siting unit above radiators, in direct sunlight or on
external uninsulated walls.
