SATA Configuration
When this submenu is selected, the AMI BIOS automatically detects the presence of the SATA
devices that are supported by the Intel PCH chip and displays the following items:
SATA Controller
This item enables or disables the onboard SATA controller supported by the Intel PCH chip.
The options are
Enabled
and
Disabled
.
Configure SATA as
Select
IDE
to configure a SATA drive specified by the user as an IDE drive. Select
AHCI
to
configure a SATA drive specified by the user as an AHCI drive. Select
RAID
to configure a
SATA drive specified by the user as a RAID drive. The options are
IDE, AHCI,
and
RAID
.
If the item above "Configure SATA as" is set to AHCI, the following items will display:
Support Aggressive Link Power Management
When this item is set to
Enabled
, the SATA AHCI controller manages the power usage of the
SATA link. The controller will put the link in a low power mode during extended periods of I/O
inactivity, and will return the link to an active state when I/O activity resumes. The options are

Disabled
.
