TROUBLE SHOOTING
TELEPHONE WILL NOT DIAL
FaxSwitch 2
in its default ‘Traditional FaxSwitch Method’ configuration is
programmed to remove your Telephone Devices from the telephone line
and only connect your Telephones to the telephone line when you are
making or receiving a Telephone call.
By doing so,
FaxSwitch 2
can ENSURE that your Telephones will NEVER
RING when there is an Incoming Fax call.
A small number of Telephone Devices have recently introduced a new
‘
Line In
Use
’ facility which is designed to prevent Barge-In by your Fax
when a telephone call is taking place.
This would normally prevent your Telephones from Dialing Out from a
telephone line switch, when operating in the ‘Traditional FaxSwitch Method’
configuration (ie Dip Switch 1 = OFF only).
Should your Telephones NOT DIAL out when connected to
FaxSwitch 2
,
then you should set Dip Switch 4 to the ON position.
The only difference you will experience with this switch change is that the
telephones connected direct to the
TELEPHONE
LINE OUT
Port will ring
1 or 2 times before stopping, when Fax calls are received.
For this reason, it is best to leave Dip Switch 4 set to the OFF position
unless your Telephones will not Dial Out.
Alternatively, you can set
FaxSwitch 2
can to operate in the Voice Priority
operating Mode (set Dip Switch 1 = ON), which will also overcome
Telephone Dial Out problems.
