NOTE:
Standards describing routing protocols often refer to the extended-network-
prefix-length rather than the subnet mask. The prefix length is equal to the
number of contiguous one-bits in the traditional subnet mask. The / prefix-
length notion is more compact and easier to understand than writing out the
mask in its traditional dotted-decimal format. The following example illustrates
this:
IP Address:
10000010.00000101.00011001
Subnet Mask:
11111111.11111111.11111111.00000000
or
IP Address / Prefix
130.5.5.25/24
The following command line is displayed, indicating that you
are in Interface Configuration mode:
OS2400 (config if)#
3
Type
exit
to return to the previous mode.
4
Type
write file
to save the configuration changes to the
configuration files.
The following example displays a portion of the command line
during interface configuration. The
show interface
command is
used to display the configured interfaces:
NOTE:
The symbol “?” is not displayed in the OptiSwitch-2400/L3 screen.
