TRAX MODE: OPERATION
DRIVE DYNAMICS
With your batteries installed, it is good practice (but not necessary) to first turn on your MASTER
Controller. Now on the chassis pull up the red Power button on the top of the CORE. Once the system
successfully links between the CORE and MASTER Controller, the start-up initialisation sequence will
begin. The MASTER will ask the user to calibrate the Trax System, once this is selected the Menu will
display the calibration sequence. At the end of this sequence the CORE is fully powered on and ready
to go. The MASTER will show the main Trax Menu screen.
SETTINGS & OPTIONS
Setting up the AGITO to best suit your driving style and the requirements of the shot is essential. There
are many user configurable software options, that when combined with the hardware set-up will vary
the drive dynamics / responsiveness.
FIRST USE
When you use the system for the first time, it is highly recommended that the operator understands this
manual and has time to experiment and familiarise themselves with different configurations. Finding the
set-up which makes the operator feel most “connected” to AGITO is essential.
AGITO is shipped in a standard configuration, and this is how we generally teach operators who
attend our training. Firmware settings can be returned to default using the RESET command in the
SYSTEM menu. Ensuring that the hardware is in a neutral state is also extremely important when setting
up system.
Always ensure:
•
MAG-Stop is correctly calibrated
•
Stopping Distances have been tested
•
Maximum speed is restricted to match the payload and any track curves in use
•
Use Guide Wheels to ensure the system is safely attached to the track
•
E-STOP is connected and close to the operator at ALL TIMES
Before the Trax calibration has been completed, it is possible to run beyond
the physical ends of the track.
When turning on the MASTER Controller be careful not to press any button other than the power
switch, specifically the Throttle Input. On start-up the controller runs through a calibration process,
if the Throttle Input is not centered then the AGITO may accelerate unexpectedly.
The calibration process finishes when the main menu screen appears.
