Section 8.6: AB Tag Client 

 

AB Tag Client Theory of Operations

: 

The Allen Bradley Tag Client performs as a master to write and read data to and 
from a Compactlogix or ControlLogix PLC. The required setup in the PLC program 
is to create the needed Controller Tag Arrays noted in the mCoreSDR data map. 
mCoreSDR supports Controller Tags and Controller Tag arrays with Integer, 
Double Integer, and Real Floating-point data types.  
Data is written to the PLC immediately on connection, but subsequent writes are 
only made when the source data changes. Therefore, if you overwrite a value in 
the PLC, mCore will NOT overwrite that value until the source data changes which 
triggers a new write.

After adding the Protocol per the Add Protocol section, click the AB Tag Client 
protocol in the left menu, then click the 2nd level. The following screen will 
appear.
