The microwave offers many features which may include: varied cooking times with
different power settings, automatic sensor cooking, a kitchen timer, a Metric to American
conversion chart (which includes temperature and weight), on screen programming help,
childproof lockout and auto defrost cycles. The screen can display one of three different
languages.
Microwave Tips:
• When the microwave is first powered up, the display will blink. Press Stop/Clear.
• Limit microwave use when dry camping. House battery power is quickly
consumed.
• Turn the oven off before cleaning.
• Keep the inside of the oven clean. When food spatters or spilled liquids adhere
to oven walls, wipe with a damp cloth. Mild detergent may be used if the oven gets
dirty. Harsh detergent or abrasive cleaner is not recommended.
• Clean the outside oven surface with soap and water. Wipe away any residue using a
damp cloth. Dry with a soft cloth. To prevent damage to the operating parts inside
the oven, do not allow water to seep into the ventilation openings.
• If the control panel becomes wet, clean with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh
detergents or abrasives on the control panel.
• If steam accumulates inside or around the outside of the oven door, wipe it away
with a soft cloth. This may occur when the microwave oven is operated under high
humidity conditions and in no way indicates a malfunction of the unit.
• Remove the glass tray for cleaning. Wash the tray in warm sudsy water or in a
dishwasher.
• Clean the roller guide and oven cavity floor regularly to avoid excessive noise. Wipe
the bottom surface of the oven with mild detergent water or window cleaner and
then dry. The roller guide may be washed in mild sudsy water.
• The glass tray and roller guide must always be in place during cooking.
• Place the food in a suitable container.
• Ensure the door is firmly closed before use.
Microwave Facts:
One of the most useful documents is the operations manual for the microwave, located in the
owner’s information file box. Read it carefully and keep it for reference. Another useful
item is a microwave cookbook. Many will contain information about cooking principles,
techniques, hints and recipes. Ensure food is in the microwave during operation to absorb the
microwave energy. The magnetron, cycling on and off, may be heard for power levels less
than 100%.
Condensation is a normal occurrence in microwave cooking. The moisture within foods and
the room humidity will influence how much moisture condenses in the microwave. Covered foods
will not usually produce as much condensation as foods that are not covered.
NOTE: The microwave is for food preparation only. Do not use the microwave to
dry clothes, newspapers, shoes or other items.
