1. Introduction
The
MOGL
abs
ARF/XRF
consists of two independent
AD9910
direct
digital
synthesizer
(DDS)
sources,
each
with
4 W
amplifier.
The
frequency, amplitude and phase of each output is software-controlled
via a microcontroller and
FPGA
(field programmable gate array). This
enables direct control of the frequency, amplitude and phase of the
RF
signals, which can be adjusted in real-time using the front-panel
control knobs, or via a scripting language over ethernet or
USB
. The
RF
parameters can be defined in a lookup table (loaded via ethernet
or
USB
) to enable complex sequences with very fast transitions.
The block diagram below shows the key components.
