For safe operation, the crane saddle should be maintained periodically.
(1) Daily inspection
Before starting daily work, person responsible for maintenance of the crane
should perform no -load test operation to check.
①
Are the runway rails in good condition as visually checked from the floor?
②
Does the saddle work in accordance with pushbutton operation?
③
Does the brake work satisfactorily?
④
Does foreign sound or intense vibration occur?
⑤
Are rubber cushions strike the end stoppers when the saddle is stopped at
stroke end?
(2) Monthly inspection
Person responsible for maintenance of the crane should perform the following
monthly inspection.
①
Is there any hazardous object in the area covered by saddle operation?
②
Is any stopper deformed or removed? Are all stopper mounting screwstight?
③
Are the runway rails grounded properly(grounding resistance : 1000
Ω
or less).
④
Are the rails in good condition (wear, loose joint, damage, crack, etc.)?
⑤
Are cables connected securely and in good condition?
⑥
Is trolley line and trolley bus ducts in good condition (corrosion,

Is any beam mounting screw not loose? Also check wheels for wear.
⑧
Oiling to exposed gears
Remove deteriorated grease from exposed gears of wheels and apply new
grease (MOLY PS GREASE or lithium type grease #2 or equivalent) to cleaned
gears.
(3) Yearly inspection
Perform the following inspection yearly and remedy if necessary.
Remove the speed reduction unit and wheel drive unit and overhaul them to
check. Measure insulation resistance of electric components (insulation
resistance should be larger then 1 M
Ω
).
