4.3 Electromagnetic brake
The brake is a disk type electromagnetic brake having DC magnet, and located on counter -load
side of motor shaft. The motor shaft extended into the F bracket (brake case) has the spline with
which the brake disk is engaged. A movable iron core which can move in axial direction, but cannot
rotate, presses the brakedisk to keep still the motor shaft. When a button is pressed, magnet coil is
cnergized (direct current flows) and the movable core releases the brake disk, whereby the motor
shaft can rotate freely.
